It was a very wet rainy day today but I and my dress ventured out nonetheless. Although, it was tempting to consider staying inside in my cozy warm house I reminded myself that the victims of trafficking don’t have that choice on any day, rain or shine, so I got up, got dressed and went out to share awareness–in my dress–in the rain.
And, tonight we Advocates were given some wonderful breaking news from Dressember’s partner organization, A21.
Yes! Such great news!
A21 reports that 15 victims of trafficking have been set free in Greece and Bulgaria and are now in A21’s Freedom Center in Bulgaria, which is a safe place for survivors of exploitation to go to get after care to help them regain strength and overcome the abuse they have encountered so they can go forward to live normally once again.
This is the impact that Dressember-ing has on real people.
This is where the money goes that people donate to Dressember.
A21 said that because of the funds raised last Dressember, (2018), A21 was able to build a Freedom Center in Bulgaria and this year Dressember is partnering with A21 to build another Freedom Center in South Africa.
If you would like to Donate to help set people free from exploitation, links are provided below for you to do so. Any amount you are able to give will be helpful and most appreciated. Thank you. Leona
