Book Review–A Man With A Past by Mary Connealy
Brothers In Arms-Book 2
If you have read Book 1 in this Brothers In Arms series–“Braced For Love” which was brother Kevin Hunt’s story, you will surely enjoy reading this story, but if you haven’t, you will still enjoy it as this book has a great back story that will give you enough info to enlighten you.
This story is about brother Falcon Hunt, who is a man with a past that he can’t remember and a man with a present that is quite confusing. Falcon is one of the three Hunt brothers who never knew each other until they all inherited their father’s ranch, and now that they’ve come together they realize they all seem to have enemies that don’t want them to be ranch owners.
I really enjoyed reading Falcon’s story as he seems to be the brother who is struggling most with this new life he’s been thrust into, yet he seems to handle each day with a laidback attitude laced with a bit of humor, especially when he has to deal with Cheyanne who seems to hate him. There is quite an air of mystery about him and his past that kept me intrigued and guessing if he really was a good guy or a bad guy, and I admired his quick wit and deftness in dealing with dangerous situations even though a head injury left him with complete memory loss.
As he, and the wildcat step-sister Cheyanne, call a truce from their anger and competitive ways, and team up to try to find out who their enemies are, each page pulls the reader into more drama and intrigue, plus hints that this pair might actually start becoming friends or more.
This story will definitely hold your attention until the last word on the last page.
If you enjoy fast paced western fictional romance laced with humor and drama you will enjoy reading this Brothers In Arms series.
I was given this book free by Bethany House a division of Baker Publishing Group in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
